The Don'ts
Things to avoid before you have the keys in your hands:
* Don't make an expensive purchase. Making a purchase on a credit card or even with cash can effect your credit worthiness.
* Don't change your Job or reduce your income. Having A consistant job history looks good to a lender. Making a change in the middle of the loan approval process can have an adverse effect on your loan application.
* Don't switch banks or move money around. A lender will most likely ask for bank statements for checking, savings and/or money market accounts from the past couple of months. If your moving money around it looks like your involved in fraudulant activities.
* Don't disregard the lenders requirements. Even though you have been pre-approved for a loan, your work with the lender is not over. The lender will need other paper work from you such as bank statements, W2's and other important documents.
The Do's
* Make all your payments on time. If you don't it can disqualify you from obtaining a loan.
* Stay in touch with your lender, if you do the loan process will be faster than you think.
